Lovett and Co

I don't know about you, but there's just something about receiving a package, filled with beautiful stones and crystals, that is oh-so-reminiscent of childhood; when your mum first lets you have a rummage through her sacred jewellery box (or you 'inadvertently' stumble across it) and you finally feel that little more ‘grown up’, in those few moments whilst you're parading before the mirror...

Teardrop statement necklace // Small heart locket // Large heart locket (sold out) // French clip earrings (other colour options available)

Now, anyone who knows even a smidgen about me, knows I'm not one for bold, statement jewellery, bling or anything which strays from the simplicity of my everyday comfort zone for that matter (ie. my chain, bracelet and the hoops in my ears which never come out!). I do, however, think every girl needs just a little bit of crystal for those occasions when you're lacking that extra 'something', or just want to feel more glammed up (who really needs a reason?!). Cue Lovett & Co, who pretty much came up with the answer to all of my crystal needs - thank you Gumtree, for being the middle man in introductions since 2000 (I did my research). For those wondering, I helped out in the Lovett & Co office for a while which, admittedly, did no favours for my ever-growing wish list of beautiful things...

The teardrop necklace was probably the most unusual pick but I've been pleasantly surprised by its wearability, especially amongst my colour-absent wardrobe. I find that anything set in gun-metal automatically becomes less 'costume', no matter how much it costs, and it's a great, more subtle starting point for anyone who wants to dabble into the realm of statement pieces. My other choices were slightly more understated (sigh of relief, minimalists!) and can be easily worked into everyday outfits. I'm really adoring the layered necklace trend that's recirculating at the moment and thought the two, identical lockets in varying sizes would make the perfect pair with which to do so.

Onto my favourites of the bunch...if you couldn't already tell by the amount of pairs I ordered! These would be the ones I found myself subconsciously staring at whenever I was in the office. I'm not even sure the photos do these earrings enough justice, as I was quite honestly mesmerised by how beautiful they all were and despite their subtlety, they've racked up quite the number of compliments. They're the perfect 'all-occasion' earring and there are so many colours (I believe around 20, don't quote me!) you'll probably be as spoilt for choice as I was. Decisions aside, I still think there's possibly room for a few more in my collection...

You know what they say about magpies...
