The other week I embarked on my first ever experience of London Fashion Week. A fashion blogger that's never been to fashion week?! I know, I know, it's unheard of. To be honest, I've previously been quite terrified of the idea and shied away from any opportunity to attend; instead swapping it all for the comfort of my own home and a live stream from my laptop (though, who needs live streams now we have snapchat, am I right???). I met up with my bezzo blogger pal Sinead and, although we didn't attend any shows as it was all a bit last minute, we had a right, old laugh in our matching shoesies (see her post featuring them here), popping in and out of hangouts and soaking in the pretty lively, photographer-filled atmosphere around Brewer Street!
On the Thursday before it all kicked off, we headed to the Boohoo gifting lounge to pick out some pieces to either create or complete our ensembles. In my case, it was 'create', as I ended up substituting my ENTIRE outfit idea for this waistcoat and cropped flare combo, because I just couldn't resist that 70's silhouette. Note that the waistcoat comes in three colours, and I've now got my eye on that colour-of-the-season, dusty pink version too! Also, in true, indecisive 'Liv' fashion, it took 1000 try-ons and a settled decision for me to only, last minute, change my mind and opt for a little colour...but hey, at least I was (sort of) adventurous! If not at Fashion Week then when??
I just can't seem to shake that flared sleeve trend and have lost count of how many tops I own with them, but I always feel they add that tiny bit extra somethin' somethin' to an otherwise, perhaps, conservative outfit? This one is an In The Style number (which, may I add, is only £16 with OLI10!) and it pretty much pairs with anything to form an outfit your nan would be proud of. I call that a winner!
I couldn't then not co-ordinate this with my brand new, granny, glove shoes because, love 'em or hate 'em, you can't deny they are a cropped flare's best friend.
I am wearing
c/o Boohoo waistcoat and flares // c/o In The Style top (10% off with OLI10) // Topshop shoes // (Old, from a market) coat // H&M bag (sold out but similar here) // Mango sunglasses (sold out, celine dream version here)
Complete with some furry-ness to fight the cold (this is old, so no exact replica but some pretty sexy substitutes here, here and here), I was ready to face what awaited and actually surprised myself with how much I enjoyed the experience, despite the amount of people and cameras surrounding me.
It was a fruitful insight into what every season could be like and I would 100% return again, even still, not attending any shows and just running after the bike filled with free Propercorn. Big thanks to my fave, Sinead Crowe for all the photography and for giving me all the lols, and keeping me calm throughout the day! (Except when it came to taking these pics, eh Neady? :DDD)
Here's to (hopefully) next season and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' to keep up with my lack of all my posts!
