Red coat...black boots...bobble hat...all sounds a little familiar, don'tcha think? Sorry to say I don't own a bunch of reindeer, nor can I bring infinite happiness to the lives of little children (I think they hate me), or anyone else for that matter, but I can at least try my best to bring some inspo to your computer/mobile screens and who knows - maybe even half-convert those "bah humbugs" who are having a bit of trouble getting into the festive spirit this year!

I am wearing
Forever 21 coat // Topshop hat // ASOS boots (taupe here, similar here) // H&M skirt // Nelly bag // Mango sunglasses

This isn't going to be a chatty one because, well, I basically don't want you to spend your time reading it! It's the festive season and to me, all I can associate this time of year with is family, friends and loved ones. ie. Time to remember the non-technological world season; time to show people you appreciate them season and time to spend time season. In other words, I don't want to keep you away from the special people who would most probably love your attention because I think that's what's most important. ***should have included a soppy warning***

We shot this outfit a few weeks ago, on a little (now regular) trip to South Ken and it wasn't until I was reviewing the pictures that I realised how perfect they would be for Christmas. Basically, I look like some sort of revamped, female Santa, I'll admit...but I'm actually kinda diggin' it so props to the man himself for the subconscious inspo!

I'm going to leave you on that note and all I can say is that I truly hope you have a wonderful few days. 2015's events have brought so much hurt and sadness, it's such a pleasure to see some faith and joy finally restored to the faces around us.

Sending my love to you all and to everybody who can no longer join us during this period.

Merry Christmas
(and don't forget to tell the ones you love that you love them)

I am wearing
c/o CelebLook gilet // H&M bag (similar here) // ASOS skirt (similar here and here) and sunglasses // Olivia Burton watch // Nelly boots (similar here and here)

Well, if this isn't a 'wake up and slay the world' ensemble, I don't know what is. There's just something about wearing all black, especially when it involves faux leather, that exudes fierceness and confidence, despite the fact that the person underneath couldn't be further from both.

I hadn't actually acknowledged how many leather layers I was wearing at the time but upon reflection, I somehow think it managed to pull itself off without looking too "oh shit, she's gone overboard"...though this has seemingly now been labelled my 'secret agent' outfit. Mi5, I'm coming for ya!

The combination of fur, with a hint of shearling, on this gilet is a winner for me and gives an alternate option to the standard shearling jacket which I already own two of are floating about EVERYWHERE at the moment. Layered over a trusty, black roll-neck (possibly one of the most worn items in my winter wardrobe and a definite necessity for all) and paired with my favourite céline-inspired booties, it's safe to say anyone would be ready to take on the world.

Or failing that, at least the UK's winter wind if you're planning on following in my bare-legged footsteps...

Beauty Review: Lord & Berry

Beauty Review: Lord & Berry

29.11.15
Lord & Berry have been a brand I've been meaning to try since I first discovered the wonders of Lily Pebbles back in, probably around 2011?! Black packaging, clean branding and a whole load of lip stuff? Yep, that was me sold. I would sit in awe of her bold lip products and lipsticks THAT CAME FROM A CRAYON!! (this was innovative back then I tell you!) and put together huge wishlists of shades that I wanted but never actually got round to purchasing. I'm putting it down to a combination of not having much of a budget at 16 and staying loyal to my good, old friend MAC once I'd saved up some monies, and then, after becoming blonde, practically giving up on all the coloured lip products I own and wearing straight up vaseline for a few years. Adventurous, I know. I'm a self-confessed lipstick fiend but, as soon as I opted for lighter locks, those bright reds, pinks and tangerines that I once lived in just seemed to terrify me when I looked at myself with them on in the mirror.

Products featured: Lord & Berry Absolute Intensity Lipstick in 'Magnetic Smile', 20100 Matte in 'Adorable', Ultimate Lipliner in 'Nude' and Perfecto Liner

Saying that, I do still occasionally dabble in the odd bit of colour, but it tends to be deeper shades of burgundy and brown or dark nudes, alongside the 'your lips but better' naturals that get me through most of my days. Since I first got these babes in the post a couple of weeks ago, I've rarely gone out without this lipliner and crayon combo. The liner is the absolute PERFECT shade to add a natural, enhanced hue to the lips, which, me being a huge fan of MAC's Spice lipliner, is a tough seat to fill and, paired with 'Adorable' on top, it creates the ideal, subtle, feminine look. The dream duo in my opinion and a definite can't-leave-the-house-without couple.

It was the lipstick that looked a little more daunting and I'll admit, I did shy away for a while initially.  Intimidated by a lipstick - who'd have thought it?! No wonder they say to always wear bold shades, in the presence of men, in business! When applying, again over the top of the nude lipliner, it glides on like silk, producing a vivid, deep shade of magenta in one sweep...and it was a lot less scary than imagined (as applies to most walks of life!) This needed to be shown on, as its beautiful, rich tone didn't translate as well in the lifestyle shots. I wore it to the hairdressers (where it seemed to garner approval from those around me) and a good 3 hours, lots of chatting and countless amounts of sipping later - there it was, still clinging seamlessly to my lips, in full colour with no flaking. Safe to say it passed the test.

The 'felt-tip' style liner was another one I was slightly dubious about after trying countless ones from different brands to only discover them drying up within a week. That, or producing some kind of grey, watery mess on my eyelids, making me appear even more tired than I probably was. I don't usually wear eyeliner day-to-day but since this claimed to be '100% waterproof, smudge proof and quick drying with a last of over 24 hours', I was determined to prove it wrong. Stubbornness - Cancer trait, I apologise. I thought the hairdressers would also be a good place to test this, as, it being a long process, there are a few hair washes, heaters and products all around my face area for a prolonged period of time. After withstanding that, on top of the UK wind and rain and perhaps a couple of (secret) crying episodes when catching up on I'm A Celebrity (over-emotional, another Cancer characteristic!), it still wouldn't budge. Thank the Lord (and Berry *b-dum-tsss*) for micellar water is all I'm saying.

So, in the words of Justin Bieber 'I never like to admit that I was wrong'...but this time, I was wrong.

Well, if we're talking 'last minute throw-together and hope for the best', this might be the epitome. Though, whilst I say 'hope for the best', I guess I'd probably just call it safe, so perhaps there isn't a need to...because that's the thing about staples, you just know you can throw them all together and always create something presentable.

We're back talking beauty over here and more importantly, what are arguably the most important part of your face - it's got to be the brows! Now don't get me wrong, I love a make up product as much as the next girl but if there's any kind of shortcut, or something that can let me get away with putting on as little make up as possible, chances are, most days I'll probably take it.

You join me in a slightly darker shoot today and yet again, a new location. With the winter nights fast approaching + a slightly hectic schedule, it sometimes becomes tricky to capture your ensemble in those crucial, and equally treasured, hours of daylight. The good thing about Somerset House is that it looks pretty darn gorgeous no matter what time it's shot and, seeing as I've been yet to attend a Fashion Week (and may not ever get to attend one here again!), I figured it was about time I gave it a feature.

T-shirt, jeans, over the knee boots...check! It doesn't really get much simpler than this. I mean, I can't say I'm one to dress 'non-simply' on the regular but for me, this really was stripping it back to basics and making use of those oh-so-reliable wardrobe staples. If you're going to go simple, the key is in the details, and choosing the appropriate, accompanying accessories.

Yes, you're in the right place. No, you're not losing it...and I haven't lost it either (though some might say otherwise). Remember that little heart-to-heart I had with you the other month about change? Well, it's happening. I'm branching. And I have to say, I'm quite enjoying how this is going!

Well, almost all black. I couldn't leave out these mock croc beauties.

Ever had one of those days where you're out and about and are somewhat unsatisfied with the choices made in today's outfit? So you trawl the shops, hoping to find that one item that will make it complete with a swift change? This shirt was that for me.

For those of you who don't know me too well already, I have a little bit of an affiliation with rose gold. Be it jewellery, homeware, clothing or even technology (hello iPhone 6S, it won't be long until you're by my side) - you name it, I need it. In all of its forms. It's the clothing/accessory side of things with which I tend to struggle, especially when it comes to hardware. There's a fine line between the delicate, pink-toned gold of dreams and that tacky, almost bright-orange-coloured copper - a line that I, undoubtedly, do not want to cross!

I don't know about you, but there's just something about receiving a package, filled with beautiful stones and crystals, that is oh-so-reminiscent of childhood; when your mum first lets you have a rummage through her sacred jewellery box (or you 'inadvertently' stumble across it) and you finally feel that little more ‘grown up’, in those few moments whilst you're parading before the mirror...
