Zara sandals (sale)
H&M bag (sold out but similar HERE and HERE)

I hope you've all had a lovely bank holiday, despite the copious amounts of rain lashing down today, if you're a fellow UK citizen. Call me strange but I've somewhat welcomed the array of downpours and drop in temperature - it's like that little nod to Autumn, a.k.a. 'sweater weather', a.k.a. my favourite time of the year and a swift goodbye to the sultry, tourist-filled months of Summer. Ironic, considering this post is the final instalment of my outfits shot in the sun-soaked streets of LA but what better way to transition between seasons than to feature a beloved, wardrobe staple that's going to carry me through both? (Yes trench coat, I am referring to you).

This was actually Alix and I's favourite shoot to date, due to location, lighting and how well the ensemble actually photographed. Surprising really, as it's comprised of so little - a mere two garments and two accessories, not including the shoes.
Just shows that sometimes, the simplest ideas can produce the best outcomes.

Until next time...

"Basketball Shorts"

Sunday, August 17

I am wearing

Bershka crop top
ASOS shorts
Topshop jacket (sold out. Nude HERE, similar HERE)
Zara sandals (sale)
Sister's belt (old)

So I'm following with another ensemble I sported during my time in LA. I say LA...I did also attempt to wear these shorts in Vegas, on the strip, one evening, to only be greeted by, "I like your basketball shorts". After that, they were quietly folded away until we reached Beverly Hills. Safe to say, Vegas didn't really understand fashion a whole lot, though it was very good at the whole 'wow factor' and entertainment aspect - you can't have it all! Despite this, I am still pretty much in love with these £12 bargain beauties and, basketball fan or not, they are the perfect, staple piece to have in your wardrobe.

Those of you who are super observant will have noticed the mirroring of the 'crossover' style in both the crop top and the shoes. Don't worry, I didn't at the time either. I'd love to say this was all pre-planned and 'thought out' but it was only on reflection that I spotted it! Happy little accident.
Pretty neat though, don'tcha think?

ps. points to you if you picked up on the unintentional 'sported' pun ;) xxx

S'been a while, hasn't it? Exactly a month, to be precise but let's just swiftly move past that and not dwell on my long overdue blogpost. Perhaps you'll forgive me when I say that I've been in LA and Vegas for the past 2 weeks - the places of dreams and uncanny portion sizes. Not sure whether that helps or hinders my plea for forgiveness but either way - I LOVE AMERICA!!

I'll be doing a post of a few snaps I took on my USA adventure, so you have that to look forward to...if that's your thing. If it isn't, well don't you worry - I managed to rope Alix into doing a couple of outfit shoots before we left so stay tuned, if you haven't all given up on me already!

It seems, that even in 30-40 degree heat, I can't escape wearing black, but that's just something I've come to accept now and the whole 'lightweight fabric, oversized' vibe helped me out a treat with keeping cool. Have you ever woken up one morning and thought 'nah, don't fancy a top today'? 'Cause apparently I did.

But really, who needs a top when your bikini is this pretty?

Hope you're all doing OK.
Love from your long, lost blogger, Liv.
